Wikipedia has been involved in a number of controversies since its launch in 2001. Despite these controversies, Wikipedia remains one of the most popular and trusted sources of information on the internet. Alot of the times it becomes tough for the editor editing wikipedia pages because of these controversies. The Wikimedia Foundation, which operates Wikipedia, has taken steps to address the concerns raised by these controversies, and the encyclopedia continues to improve its standards of quality.
