My son just landed his first real job after college and I want to get him a nice leather jacket as a congratulations gift. He's always admired mine but never invested in his own quality piece. Trying to figure out current trends for best men leather jacket styles since my knowledge is probably outdated. What do guys in their twenties prefer nowadays? I don't want to get him something that screams "dad picked this out." He's 6'1", athletic build, works in marketing so dress code is business casual most days. Lives in Portland so needs something that handles rain but still looks sharp. His style is pretty modern - clean lines, minimal fuss. Budget is flexible up to $500 since this is a special occasion. Should I go with a classic style that won't date, or something more contemporary? I'm leaning toward brown over black since it seems more versatile. The tricky part is sizing without him knowing. We wear similar sizes in most clothes, but leather jackets fit differently. Should I try to get his measurements somehow, or go with gift card so he can choose himself? Also wondering about presentation. Should I include care products and instructions, or keep it simple? Don't want to be preachy, but leather care isn't intuitive for young guys. Any parents here with experience buying leather jackets for adult children? What approach worked best? | |||
